Mission:

Dawn of War, 3 Objectives ( center is 2 points for both, own is 1, enemy is 3),

We both put our objectives next to the central ruins.

I won the roll off and decided to go first. The Infantry Squads got combined and I deployed them in a central ruin next to my objective, to push back my enemy I also put down an empty HQ Chimera into the middle of the board next to the central objective. The rest will come onto the board on turn one.

The Sisters deployed two Heavy Weapon Teams into a ruin on the right and a wood on the left. My enemy also decided to let everything drive/walk onto the board on turn one.

Turn 1:

The Vendettas went to the right flank, the rest of my force went more or less right to the central ruin and one Vet Squad went to the far right to maybe sneak behind the big bunker towards the enemies objective.

The shooting face was rather uneventful as I just shot some HWT down, the stayed despite their losses.

The earth shook as the 9 Immolators entered the board and deployed in as far as possible while giving cover to some, the complete front row smoked. The rest of the weapon teams, the infantry squads and the PCS walked/ran into passion to engage my forces next turn. The shooting resulted in one shaken Vendetta.

Turn 2:

I was able to fully stop the right Sisters flank as all tanks were either immobilised, got destroyed or stunned. Also some more Heavy Weapon Teams died to fire from various sources.

No pics L

The left Sisters flank pushed forward, disembarked and prepared to start their usual drill of “Melta&Burn”. The shooting did not much damage besides shaking the hydra and the chimera in front of it; still both Vendettas ate enough fire to also not be able to contribute next turn.

Turn 3:

The game gets interesting as the distance closes.

I moved the shaken chimera forward to block the immolators if my shooting would fail. The Vendetta with my PCS boosted into the lines of the Sisters to pick of immolators that I could not stop from afar.

I shuffled around chimeras with still working smoke launchers to shield my command squads from the Autocannon fire. My goal was to not let any Immolators reach my lines as I know what happens when TL Heavy Flamers meet my guardsmen, both Immolators blocked by my Chimera got stopped. My other shooting was not stellar, killing some sisters and stunning the immolator next to the bunker.

During his turn he moved forward with everything that was not a guardsmen. One Immolator reached my lines and fried 3 guardsmen. The center objective started to look crowed. My Vendetta in his backfield was able to survie a shit load of AC fire, two melta guns only to get shaken by frag grens from the stormtroopers. The Chimera on block duty got melta’ed to death as expected. The Sisters are starting to get close, next turn the carnage will start.

Turn 4

Ok time to commit to the fight. The CCS get ready to use their orders to lay down some serious firepower into the enemy on the central objective(I just havn’t forgotten about the darn Faith, 3++ on every target stinks).

I was able to stop/kill three more immolators, leaving one mobile. The expteced massacre from lots of Plasma boosted by orders was not happing. Some sisters died but there were still many melta guns on the table. I could hear the ladies singing “Caus I gotta have faith” while preparing to unleash their counter attack with short range melta shots.

The last Immolator closed the distance to my home base, every unit carring a melta gun headed for my lovely tanks. I was hopping to survive the this counter attack as there was only one immolator in range for “flame by’s”, but I did not expect my chimeras to that deadly to their (ex)cargo. See for yourself…

Two Chimeras down, Two Vendettas down, at least 15 guardsmen killed in explosions, my PCS dead from a hail of lasgun fire. But no one ran, as I brough a standard which saved my ass.

Turn 5

Time for saving what is left saving. My Hydra and the most expensive heavy flamer carrier (empty manticore) tried to block my objective from the advancing sisters.

The Sentinels left their chimera cover, ok it was mostly gone, and headed for the central objective to do some tarpitting there. The far right chimera went for the sisters objective in hope of at least turn 6.

The two chimera split up, one showing some Stormtroopers the business end of a heavy flamer the other one carefully tankshocking around meltas to get some sisters and stormtroopers of the objective, the later were to scared of the tank so they took of.

My Sentinels stumbled over their own feet and decided to not do what could have contested the central objective.

It’s go big or go home for the sisters, my objective blockers are awaiting lot’s of heat this turn. After hearing the chant “ one one one” for each of my terrain tests the whole game and not getting a result, I went for quality over quantiy and my only chant resulted in the last immolator losing it’s mobility. J

Still the Meltagun fire takes it toll and my Hydra goes bye bye, adding a good run roll on behalf of the sisters results in me losing my home objective.

The spectator who I have to thank for explaining the difference between running and walking through difficult terrain, decided to end the game with a roll of a one. (Probably still mad about what I did with my gk to his sw the game before J ).

Game ends with me in control of nothing and the sisters in control of a lot. I was hoping for more turns but even then my chimera on capping duty would have to take at least two more difficult terrain test and face off 7 autocannons to reach its target.
